Thanks to everyone who came out to check on their horses last night
Stall horses without fever have been moved to the main barn. All horses at the East barn ARE sick and currently have fevers.
None of the horses in the Mare herd have fevers as of tonight.
Of the Gelding pasture horses I was able to check before it got dark, 5 presented with temperatures of 103.5 and higher. They are currently in stalls and being treated with banamine to reduce fever. They are all eating which is good and we will continue to monitor them. (Ranger, Tando, Bull, Harley and Petey)
This morning I will be taking temperatures on the rest of the Gelding herd. When we know how many horses are impacted, we will decide how to proceed. If your horse has a temperature, I will notify you, and I will update the group when I have a plan.
