Winter weather is here and with the rains in December and January we will be dealing with mud and an unpleasant freeze/thaw of the footing until it has a chance to dry out.
Please check on your horses. If they develop mud balls at the end of their tails, I suggest trimming 4"-6" off, I do this annually and it does grow back. The mud balls flog them when they walk and can get tangled in their legs as well.
We will get the herds out in the pasture as much as we can, but during winters like this there is no escaping the muck.
