The temperature and wind chill will be cold, cold, cold for the next couple of days. Pasture herds have shelter from the wind and plenty of hay, when I looked out this morning several were huddled under the cover of the barn and the rest were gathered around the hay. Stall horses will be on a shortened turnout schedule today due to the cold since they do not have access to food in their turnout pens.
I have found an interesting article on blanketing that is linked below. In my opinion, if your horse is shivering, he/she needs either extra grain or a blanket and rest assured, I will let you know or take care of it. Never hesitate to e-mail, text or call with questions.
